Police State piece by Offsite (12/13/09)

“There is an event coming in the very near-term future that is going to effect the USA to its very soul,” former Kansas State Trooper Greg Everson of The Heartland USA and former host of Republic Broadcasting “Voices from the Heartland” told host Steve Quayle in a special two hour “Survive 2 Thrive” broadcast Thursday.

Obama Orders 1 Million US Troops to Prepare for Civil War
Police State piece by Offsite (12/13/09)

Russian Military Analysts are reporting to Prime Minister Putin that US President Barack Obama has issued orders to his Northern Command’s (USNORTHCOM) top leader, US Air Force General Gene Renuart, to “begin immediately” increasing his military forces to 1 million troops by January 30, 2010, in what these reports warn is an expected outbreak of civil war within the United States before the end of winter.

Sign at homeless camp: ‘Welcome to Obamaville’
  Socialism piece by Offsite (12/13/09)

‘I’ve had 100 calls today and not a single 1 of them was negative’ - Residents of Colorado Springs, Colo., have a mystery on their hands: Who came up with the idea to erect a sign reading “Welcome to Obamaville” on the site of a homeless tent camp in the city?

Investigator: Air Tran fears ‘flying imams’ fallout
National Security piece by Offsite (12/13/09)

A licensed private investigator who has looked into the conflicting reports over the Air Tran Flight 297 incident in Atlanta - described by some passengers as an apparent “dry run” for a hijacking - says the details are being kept quiet because the airline doesn’t want to be targeted with lawsuits like what happened in the “flying imams” case in Minneapolis three years ago.

This Leftist Drivel is Why Journalism is Dying
Progressivism piece by Warner Todd Huston (12/13/09)

Today I have read a piece of “journalism” by a freelance writer whose Slate article shows me why the profession has fallen on such hard times. The piece on fast food drive thru windows(1) is not only pretentious but it is filled with enough fluff to stuff a mattress and leaves the impression that the writer thinks it all resembles wit. It simply amazes for its vacuous nature. And, worse, it doesn’t even pay off fulfilling the premise of its headline. In fact, it is so ridiculous for its assumptions and its presumption of surety that one wonders if the writer had ever even seen a fast food drive up window or met anyone that would use one before putting pen to paper.

Hannity Discussion with 9/11 Families - We Are Listening New York
Politics piece by Michael Bresciani (12/13/09)

On the evening of December 11, 2009 Sean Hannity conducted an open discussion with the families of 9/11 victims. Sean’s usual polite and casual manner was charged with an extra sense of care with an obvious deliberate use of respectful language and occasional words of sympathy.

Obama: What a Difference a Year Makes
ObamaNation piece by Alan Caruba (12/13/09)

Historians are likely to look back at 2009, the first year of Barack Obama’s term in office and assess the damage it has done to Americans and to the image of America as the primary line of defense against the world’s thugs.

‘What Was the Point at West Point?’
Foreign Policy piece by Jayme Evans (12/11/09)

“They took the lives of innocent men, women and children without regard to their faith or race or station.” - Barack Obama’s revisionist 9/11 history lesson to West Point cadets. - Barack Obama’s biggest liabilities as both a politician and so-called “leader” are his tendency to overstate the magnitude of the nation’s problems and the effects of his policies upon those problems, to overreach on the legislative solutions to those overstated problems, as well as the time required for doing so and to repeatedly begin acting on those problems before the proper solution has been identified, effectively placing the cart before the horse.

America’s Worst Nightmares: Immigration And Demographics
National Security piece by James T. Moore (12/11/09)

It’s a double whammy of monumental proportions. The nightmares that knowledgeable pundits are warning us about are there for eyes to see, if we have sense enough to look.

“Hope and Change” Through Lies
ClimateGate piece by Christopher G. Adamo (12/11/09)

Outrage over the suppressed data refuting “global warming” at the East Anglia Institute in England, now spans the world. Though as a result of a liberal media “blackout,” news of the event currently remains primarily confined among the intellectually honest participants in the climate debate. Nevertheless, with each passing day, ever increasing numbers of common citizens are realizing that every aspect of their lives, from the nature of the vehicles they own to the type of lighting that will be “allowed” them by their beneficent government, is being dictated by a hoax bearing no more substance than the “Bermuda Triangle.”

‘Can The US Survive 4 Years of Obama?’
  ObamaNation piece by J. D. Longstreet (12/11/09)

Socialist/Democrats Dragging America Down to 3rd World Status! - The short answer to the question posed in the title to this piece is: NO!

Obama Openly Threatens American People and US Congress
ObamaNation piece by Sher Zieve (12/11/09)

Showing once again that he is, indeed, the dictator-in-Chief, The Obama is threatening to take over Congress of it does not follow his dictates of passing another of his Orwellian programs. This week the Obama-run EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) ruled that CO2 and, therefore, breathing is dangerous and must be curtailed.

Hyperbolic Hyperbole
Demercrats piece by Geoff Metcalf (12/11/09)

After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring. He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him.  The moral: When you’re full of bull, keep your mouth shut.  --Will Rogers - Sen. Harry Reid has redefined the concept of “exaggeration for effect” with his latest whiney screed. Move over Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, Reid has co-opted race baiting as a new Democrat leadership tool.

Bush Deserved The Nobel More Than Obama
Political Correctness piece by Aaron Goldstein (12/11/09)

This week, President Obama traveled to Oslo to accept the Nobel Peace Prize.  For what exactly we are still trying to figure out.  Quite frankly, the Nobel Committee is recognizing the wrong President.  They should have bestowed the prize on his predecessor, George W. Bush.

U.S. now only 2 states away from rewriting Constitution
  Progressivism piece by Offsite (12/12/08)

A public policy organization has issued an urgent alert stating affirmative votes are needed from only two more states before a Constitutional Convention could be assembled in which “today’s corrupt politicians and judges” could formally change the U.S. Constitution’s “‘problematic’ provisions to reflect the philosophical and social mores of our contemporary society.”

‘Are These People Stupid, Nuts or Both?’
Energy piece by Alan Caruba (7/21/08)

There are two states on opposite sides of the nation where, if something really stupid can be proposed, they represent the most fertile ground. I speak, of course, of New Jersey and California.

The Catastrophe of Regulating Global Warming
Global Warming piece by Kevin Roeten (7/21/08)

“Man-made” global warming is more complicated than ever. The real problems lie in the fact that it may be 20-50 years before some believe there’s enough definitive evidence that exists. Many want to react immediately to a situation that has existed since the beginning of time itself. The following are the facts we know. Your response indicates whether you are open to facts or not.

Big Government: Now Better Than Mother Nature
GreeenIsm piece by Warner Todd Huston (7/21/08)

Teddy Roosevelt impressed the nation with his focus on conservation and while he was president was responsible for pushing to conserve our nation’s wilderness in the form of sundry national parks, mostly in the western U.S. This was a worthy enterprise, few can deny. But what is the true purpose of these conservatories but to set aside tracts of land away from developers so that nature can prevail? Is it not a given that these lands should be governed by nature and but set aside by government?

“Consensus” on Man-Made Warming Shattering
Global Warming piece by Dennis T. Avery (7/21/08)

The “consensus” on man-made global warming may have received a mortal wound.

Global Warming Challenged by New Data and Failed Predictions
Global Warming piece by Mary Mostert (7/21/08)

The American Physical Society (APS), representing over 50,000 physicists, has re-opened the discussion of the issue of global warming. In 2007 the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concluded that more than half of the “Global warming” of the past 50 years (IPCC, 2007) had been caused by CO2 emissions from humans and that human activity would cause further rapid warming . That conclusion is now being challenged by new data and the failure of old data to predict what has actually happened to the climate since 2001.

A Lefty That Says ‘Bush never lied to us about Iraq’
General piece by Warner Todd Huston (6/19/08)

James Kirchick, assistant editor of The New Republic, has come under my scrutiny for his bias before, of course. I see one of my roles as keeping an eye on the bias in the media and to document and analyze that bias. But while I naturally focus on when the media get it wrong, I also like to point out when those who I’ve criticized get it right. Here is a case when a member of the media that I usually criticize did, indeed, get it right and this time it might get him in Dutch with his lefty pals in the nutroots. After all, the surest way to get the nutroots upset at you is to say Bush ‘did not’ lie about the war. But that is exactly what Kirchick just did and he did an admirable job chronicling it, too.

We CAN Drill Our Way Out of This
GreeenIsm piece by Sher Zieve (6/19/08)

With regards to securing oil from and for our own country in order to end or greatly reduce the rising oil price crisis, the Democrats new mantra is “we can’t drill our way out of it.” Wrong.  Of course we can!  Someone should tell the Democrat-run Congress that the way oil is secured is by drilling for it.  But, it’s been so long since we in the USA have been allowed to secure new oil resources that perhaps they no longer realize how it’s done.

‘The (Liberal) Media Empire Strikes Back?’
Media piece by Jack L. Key (6/19/08)

Well, here we go again. It’s big-time politics. The liberal media’s finest hour! Just the look and sound of the word “politics” grates on me.  So does the word “freedom” of a runaway liberal press. Has any other “freedom” or “right” of America’s Constitution ever been so abused?

‘Will the Greens Sacrifice Their Own ‘Sacred Cows’?’
GreeenIsm piece by Dennis T. Avery (6/14/08)

Wired Magazine has published a list of “Green sacred cows” it says must be sacrificed to save the planet. Wired’s founding editor, Kevin Kelly, formerly edited the Whole Earth Catalog, so the magazine has credentials for rethinking what it means to be Green.

‘Are American Voters as Stupid As Democrats Bank On?’
Politics piece by JB Williams (6/14/08)

I’d love to be able to say that American voters are far too intelligent to ever fall for the socialist drivel currently peddled by the New Democrat Party, aka - the Democratic Socialists of America. But that would be a lie…

Dismantling the USA Part I:  The Beginnings
Progressivism piece by Sher Zieve (6/13/08)

Today’s US Supreme Court ruling advising the country and the world that foreign terrorists now essentially are afforded the same rights to have their cases tried in the US federal court system and pounds another nail into the coffin of the USA, prompted me - again - towards the realization that today’s students haven’t a clue as to how and why the United States of America now finds itself in the current predicament that presages its end.  Leftist academia has only taught them to hate their country.  But, I do not only blame the leftist faction for its unrelenting indoctrination of Communist ‘principles’ calling for the destruction of freedom and liberty into the minds of children and young adults.  I also blame our faux conservative elected officials for allowing said indoctrination to go unchecked for decades.  And now it’s too late.  This was probably our first - and greatest - mistake.

Land-Use Reform and Risk
Big Brother piece by Paul M. Weyrich (6/13/08)

Phil Truluck is today Executive Vice President of the Heritage Foundation. He is the right-hand man of Edwin J. (Ed) Feulner, Jr. In 1973 he worked under my supervision. Then as now he is one of the most able and tireless laborers for the cause I ever have known.  That year he worked day and night on the liberal’s pet cause of that era - namely, land use. Had the land use bill passed the Federal Government would have been able, in effect, to do away with private property.
