Well, the L.A.Times certainly followed the Democratic National Committee’s stylebook for reporting the News with this one, it is obvious. In a story about the new “sweeping ethics bill"(1) making its way through Congress this week, they mention all the Republican corruption they can dredge up, but somehow miss every single Democrat example of the same. They also misreport a Nancy Pelosi rules change that makes it seem as if she is a corruption fighter when the truth is that she backed off from the very rule the Times cites as an example of how “ethical” the House is! This one is a perfect example of partisan, agenda driven “reporting,” for sure.

If you haven’t been involved before, it’s likely you will be. Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide are considered acceptable actions for those who want to be killed. It’s even considered compassionate for those that might be in pain. It seems that we have already been sliding down a slippery slope. The only question is “When do we hit bottom?”

here’s a whole aspect of life in America about which fewer and fewer Americans know anything. It’s farming. Some two percent of the population feed the rest of us who have no idea how what they produce gets to our plate. Responsible for everything we eat, agriculture is also an essential element of our nation’s economy.

Don Imus’ comments that the Rutger’s ladies basketball team were a bunch of tattooed nappy-headed hoes might not have been the kindest thing to say about these athletes, though one must note the claim has not been entirely refuted as interestingly in appearances before the press the players have decided to conceal themselves behind jumpsuits so the American people can’t determine for themselves whether or not the team at least merits the tattooed classification. However, the response to these remarks, especially on the part of renowned rabblerousers such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, has gone far beyond the momentary discombobulation such a guffaw might elicit from more balanced people.

Rachel Alexander at Intellectual Conservative recently posted a wonderful note about the desperation of the Left in coming up with anything bad about Fred Thompson. His lovely wife, the mother of two of his children, an attorney who had a successful career before marrying Fred, a woman who is over forty is touted as Thompson’s “trophy wife.” Rachel rightly notes that if this is the best that the Left can come up with to slime Fred Thompson, then 2008 looks like it could turn out to be great.

I recently heard about a statement from a discussion that allegedly occurred between an Islamic student attending an American university, and a traditional America student. The following statement may well be a fictitious conversation based in urban legend, but it is an accurate anecdote of the real threat America faces from the ideology of radical Islamic extremism. The Islamic student apparently stated resolutely, “Because of your Democracy we will invade you. Because of my religion we will dominate you.” It rings as almost a parallel to the prophetic proclamation of Nikita Kruschev, who uttered from an Iowa cornfield during his excursion of the U.S., “we will bury you.”

On 6 June 1944, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt delivered one of the most arguably powerful prayer speeches in history given by an American president. Over Radio, Roosevelt’s speech was given as allied forces comprised of Americans, Brits and Canadians battled valiantly on the beaches of Normandy. This was D-Day in World War II. If the same speech were given today, in an ACLU and terrorist-accepting (if not terrorist-friendly) society, current presidents - most specifically Republican presidents - would be vilified. As a matter of fact, President George W. Bush has already been soundly denounced by the media and those who would placate the opponents of humankind for one word he used to describe a campaign against these enemies of humanity.
